Skiing in Gulmarg (Kashmir)

In March 2009 I am planning a skitrip to India. I really would like to experience how the skiing is in the Himalaya's; it must be great. Me and my friend are prefering to go to Gulmarg because of lift which is taking upto 4.000 meters. I read some good stories about the beautiness of Kashmir where Gulmarg is situated. But is it safe to go there at this moment? What can be expected and is it easy to reach?

Looking forward to good advice?

Grtz,

Ollie
