Six New Valley of Flowers Discovered in Uttranchal
So far most tourist knew only about one valley of flowers but one and half year ago new discovery has been made. Apparently these valleys are as much spread out as the older one and average flowers varieties and density is same as the old one. Out of these six four have already been named
1) Khero Valley 2) Chenap Valley 3) Ronty Bugyal 4) Rishikund I have no idea where these valleys might be situated and so far they are not open for tourists. As per the valley of flowers director Mr A. K Banarjee remaining two will be named and after field studies are complete all six valleys might be open to public from June 2006. Maybe our trekking and mountaineer IMers can throw some light on the location; I am assuming these to be around Rataban and Ronty Saddle. |

Rishikund does happen on the trekking circuit. The other two i have to look up.
Personally i consider Dayaaraa Bugyaal as the Valley to rival the valley of flowers. The Govt wants to publicise other valleys... there are many more.... but people keep going to the valley of flowers only. This the Govt wants to amend.

I do not feel that RONTY BUGYAL can be placed 'safe' for general tourism.
I mean how people consider VALLEO OF FLWOERS -a easy one to go but RONTY seems to be tough and challenging. Otheriwse-I thank you HIPPIE for such a good post, may be someday-I could try..... |

Fantastic. Now this is a very relevant thread. Though, It may be better that none of these are promoted and they just remain wild and unknown except for some keen himalayas enthusiast.

I personaly thinks that promotion should be there-it has both negative and positive effects but it is important.
