Thanx for suggestions.I had 2 options in my mind-Kansai(Kansabati) or Subarnarekha for the river trek and Susunia for some elevation.
I believe Susunia is good for rock climbing-how much time will it take? Will it be enough to keep us busy for a whole day or is it just a couple of hours affair? If we start early(4:00am) in the morning from Kharagpur can we get down to business the same day? |

What about the forest at Salua? Is it still there or gone? We had been chased by elephants once there.

Hi Jyotirmoy
So u have been to Salua. How long ago did u go there? Its now a pretty busy place. The forest doesn't appear to be very imposing from the road.I don't know how was it a few years back-I've been staying in Kgp for about 1.5 years and I've cycled past that place a couple of times. The forest is about a km after the army office at Salua but a few days ago on a holiday I saw picnic goers crowd near the forest. There is a walled enclosure and I believe picnic goers won't go there to be welcomed by elephants(who are pretty "active" as u say).I'm not sure of the exact extent of the forest, so I'll need to enquire. |
