hi everyone i am arriving at haridwar on the 8 october would it be best to go to rishikesh to get a share jeep to uttarkashi or can i get ashare jeep from haridwar? iwant to trek up to tapovan and nandavan but i am conscious of the temperature starting to fall so i want to get there as soon as possibls . also has anyone a rough idea how much a good porter costs per day. thanks a lot. captain kit.

It would be better to go to Rishikesh for shared jeep.

If you want to go really early morning, take the News Paper Jeeps & Taxies. They are the first ones on road.

thankyou both for your suggestions.i will go on to rishikesh and find out where the newspaper taxis is to be found and make sure i get up early.
