Hello All ,

Me and my team is planning for Sar Pass Trek in 2nd week of May 2017 , Can any1 provide me the details of Guide , cook and Porters who can help in this Trek ?

Mostly in everyplace I have seen Sar Pass Trek is conducted by YHAI group but we don't wanna go with big groups and till date we have done all the treks by taking separate Guide and Cook , so it will very helpful if any1 can provide us some local point of contact from Kasol (GUIDE , COOK) for Sar Pass Trek.

Yes YHAI doesn't cost high but it puts in many rules and condition which kills the Fun part.

Guess staying safe doesn't come in your fun part!

I have heard this before as well, and I can understand some parts of it. But if I look at the bigger picture, I don't mind the rules.

Disagree with Susmit!

YHAI gives a lot of liberty to enjoy during camping and treks...

YHAI trek to Sar Pass is defintely cheap and well-conducted. However, it is true that there are too many rules to be followed during the trek and at camp. It feels more like a school camp with fixed meal times, fixed sleeping times, and you cannot even stay outside the tents for star-gazing after sleeping time is announced!
Then, the group size is around 40, which regular trekkers do not enjoy. There is no solitude.

I know the hazard of being in 50 member Team . Till date i have done 5 Treks - (NeoraValley - Rachela Peak , Kuari Pass Trek , Roopkund Trek , Goechala Trek & Kedarkantha Peak Trek) in all of them i have seen Trekking Organization arranging Treks where they take 40 - 50 member in one group which inforces huge rules and it feels like School camp . We all are responsible for our Health and well being and we all know what to do and what not do & while keeping everything in mind which includes the Big Picture i prefer going alone with my group which is safer and much more enjoyable :-) @ Prakaant @ Snotty

Guys ,i am doing SAR Pass this year . Wanted to know how much time it would take to reach Delhi from Kasol. I have flight to catch up at 12 AM. Considering Mountain roads/delhi traffic, when should i board bus latest from bhuntar /kullu to delhi ? HRTC 9:30 PM bus will be ok ?

Better option would be earlier bus from Kullu which leave around 6 PM.

You may book your seats at base camp also...

But there is no direct bus service from kasol to delhi. You mean private bus arranged by YHAI people locally ?

HRTC arranges a booking counter (manned by HRTC staff) at the base camps for booking tickets during evening hours. YHAI arranges space for it. They collect money and bring tickets during their next visit...

Base Camp Reception Office will give detail information.

Yes, Debendra, there is no bus between Kasol and Delhi. You will have take bus either from Manali, Kullu or Bhuntar. You will have to purchase bus tickets from Kullu if you are boarding from Bhuntar.

Ah, well I missed it during my stay at the base camp. Guess it wasn't there that season.
