Aaah, Chitral! Not so awful.
![]() Belongs to us anyway, just stolen by the neighbours. ![]() Yeah, the Himalaya aren't going anywhere, they'll be here for another few million years, so enjoy! |

I have done the Dodi Tal to Dayara Trek by going down the river valley which occurs in between. This fellow did it by circumambulating it. I was looking at Kanatal and finding out ways to reach it. This blog gave me some answers... Thanks Dilliwala !! ![]() BTW, nowhere does the profile hint it is this same person. Maybe you clicked upon his blog from one of his posts... thats how you know they are one and the same? eh?!

Few things happened together which made me recall his name vaguely - I exchanged a few posts with him here, and then read a few more of his, including this and this. So when I found his Bamsaru report y'day, I vaguely recalled the word "snowscapes" from IM. I had read his Bali pass report also and so his pic also seemed familiar yesterday. Then searched and cross-checked with the a.m posts - it's him, for sure, as u will note from the links. Not bad jasoos-work, huh? ![]() If u read his other posts, the guy has done some serious trekking. |

(So I see it is, from the map). I thought it was in POK, i.e. 'real' Kashmir. If it's to do with the Durand Line, then I want nothing to do with it. That part is rightfully Afghanistan's. |

Hi Andreas and Avidtrekker
Hi Andreas and Avidtrekker
Just got referred to this thread by Dilliwala. We did this one in August 2005. Would recommend one anyday especially if you can pan around a nice weather window around Autumn. We had originally planned to reach Sukhi and Harshil from Bamsarukhal which would have required us 2 extra days after Gidara valley campsite. do ask in if there is any specific queries. Good that I found this thread...the discussion starts with Sangla and smoothly meanders down to Bamsarukhal ...lotsa info!! Andreas: Loved that map (black and white) ..do you have a large map like that of Uttaranchal/Himachal? How can i get such a map? Thanks in advance! Quote:

There was some talk of The Govt relaxing its Map policy. Its not happened yet. "Ridgeline only" Leomann's Maps [which you have] are quite good. . . |

Thanks Avid....do let me know of anymore info about maps. Leomann maps I do have ....but surely it would not have helped me in Bamsaru trek for example. Just does not have enough details.

Whoa, that's an impressive map, Andreas. Found most of the places mentioned by ashutosh. Awful spelling for Swargarohini though!
Are there more maps like that, or is it a one-off? |
