Post Sandakphu in 3 days

We are going to Sandakphu near March end.
Kolkata to Kolkata it is 5 - nights... itinerary is like this...

Night-1: In DRJ mail from SLDH -> NJP
Night-2: Gurdum (We have a car booking from NJP to near Srikhola)
Night-3: Sandakphu
Night-4: Rimbik (Sandakphu -> Rimbik via Bikebhanjan)
Night-5: DRJ mail from NJP -> SLDH

We are six and have a eight bed dorm for us at Sandakphu. We may include two if anybody is interested? Would be a bit tough for newbies...

Are you sure about going Gurdum to Sandakphu in one day? I think from Manevanjan side it will be better.

On our trip to sandakphu in mid nov 07 we saw two guys from kolkata going up to sandakphu from gurdum in one day. They cam back to srikhola on the next day afternoon ( we got stuck up at srikhola due to bandh). It may be `child's play' for seasoned trekkers but surely NOT for ameatures like us.

From the discussion on this thread; I understand march-end or April 1st week is ok to do the sandakphu trek?

I am planning to do this trek starting around 3rd April from manaybhanjang .... and perhaps doing the opposite of IceX i.e. stretching a 5 day trek to 7 days .... I posted my plan in another thread "destination sandakphu" here on IM ..any comments and feedback on that is welcome ..... KS

Guys don't be gross on me... I belong to those unfortunate class who has these dreams but not leaves... Believe me like everybody else I go to enjoy also...

KS: The time is great, but stretching 5 to 7 looks you want to enjoy flowers... if that be it go mid April or May... if you have Phalut in mind stay one night at Gorkhey and plan a fullmoon at Gorkhey... BTW post your thread link here, I could not find it.

Thanks IceX. Yes, I can understand your leave situation! I am a lucky on that aspect .... I have enough leave (at least next 10 years, I hope). The other thread .... in which I posted route:

destination sandakphu

There seem to be many threads on Sandakphu on IM ... I saw another one saying "destination sandakphu-falut"
