roopkund or any other area

hii..tis is aswath from chennai( tamil nadu)..could any1 temme..how much will it cost for the whole trek chennai -roopkund -chennai..(including everytng)
we are a group of 5 ppl. roopkund is not the only choice..we are planning to go around last week of may or first week of june..so temme if ter are anyotr good place ..( we are first timers )

I do not recommend Roopkund trek for first timers. If you still want to do that make sure that you hire a good guide. The weather is very unpredictable there.
Expect bouts of rain at the time you are visiting. You may look in to Uttaranchal forum to find other treking destinations.

Yes- ROOPKUND is not for first timers...and in MAY ..this is going to be very very tough to reach upto lip of KUND. This whole region is snow bounded.
I think following will be fine for new trekkers.

1. Pindari Glacier
2. Outer Nanda Devi Sanctuary [ Kuari Pass]
3. Hem Kund+ Valley of flowers

so i wana go to some place dats got snow...not all the way..may be the final destination..n spend some time ter..so suggest some good ones ...and iam new to all these things..so kindly help me from the scratch

Hi

We are a lot going to Roopkund in June. If you are a little shaky about the idea, you could join us. We are leaving June 14 Delhi. Hopefully start trek on 16 June.
