Hi Mintu
I have kept about 7-8 days total trekking time. That's Wan-Wan. If you can suggest any diversions within this period, that would be excellent. Arjun |

Dear Mintu
Your Wan-Zoragully pass-Sutol-Nandprayag sounds interesting. But can Zoragully be done in Mid June? Have you done it? What would be the total trekking time on this route? Arjun |

Hi Arjun ,
Yes i hav done zoragali pass in mid june . As u told me u r interested in Wan to sutol Nandprayg. What i personally like is u do the pass visit Shila samudra and homkund n return from the same route coz after shila samudra the trek to sutol- nandprayag is low altitude trek n there is not much to watch as u will be trekin through the villages. u can add one extra day to visit aali bugyal as well. |

Hi Harsh
Thanks for the plan. Here's a question for you. In case I find my team not being able to cross over Joragully or I find the place too snowed in, what would you suggest as a back-up plan? Initially, I had B.Basa, Bedni, Ali as a return option. Any modification on that? Arjun |

Hi ubabs13
Oct is a very good time to go to roopkund as coz this is the post monsoon season n normally u wud'nt find snow on route to Roop Kund. U won't be needing any technical gear in that season as per my experiance. |

Hi,
By way of a general observation, I found trekking garhwal in end-Sept-mid-October ( or autumn season) is more convenient from the point of view of weather, photography and crowd. Ofcourse, those who are fond of snow may miss the same in this period. I think Roopkund - the lake may remain frozen in the early part of June. |

Trekking equipment
Finally, we are set for our Roopkund adventure. We are 12 of us and we are setting out on June 14.
A few last questions. Has anyone used Indian Mountaineering Foundation Equipment? How are they? How would you rate them vis-a-vis what is available at NIM Uttarkashi? I am keen to know the condition of tents and sleeping bags. Any tips here would be helpful. I am wondering whether to pick up what equipment the local guide has to offer or IMF ones? Arjun |
