1. Is there any bus service from haldwani to lohajung ? do we need to break the journey ?
>> There is morning bus from Kathgodam to Loharjung.

2. What is the approximate bus fare from haldwani to Lohajung??
>>The charges in this bus are around than 250/person.

3. Can we purchase ration and kerosene from Lohajung? Is these available??
Yes, all the stuff is available at Lohajung, though Deval is the best place to arrange for stuff.

4. What is approx dormitory charges in Lohajung?
GMVN offers good dormitory along. Roopkund Tourist Lodge (TRC) a Zila Panchayat accommodation (descent rooms with neat washrooms) is also a good and reasonable accommodation.

5. How frequent is the return transport to kathgodam from Lohajung? Do we need to break the journey?
>> There is a morning bus around 9:30 if I remember correctly. Would suggest calling up local guys to get the up to date information.

6. What is the average guide and porter charge per day?

Me and a few friends are planning for the RoopKund Trek in May 2012. We are leaving on the 28th May from Kolkata and would be back in Kolkata on 9th June.

We are around the age bracket of 28-35 with low/moderate fitness level and no prior trekking experience leave apart high altitude trekking.

So , is it possible to go upto Junargalli Col Pass ?

It will be not fair to say in advance whether you will be able to reach Junargali or not. Roopkund trek needs stamina and considered as strenous trek.So, best of luck.

Age bracket looks fine; though not an precise criteria to predict anything. Junargali looks almost like an steep wall of ice and snow; and would soak a lots of energy out for sure; but is doable.
