Dodang to Ghat would be long days

Supratim,

I saw your itinerary and the days from Dodang to Ghat in 2 days would be very long days.

In our case, we went to Chandania ghat after climbing Ronti Saddle. Next day, we camped by the river at Sutol. Next day we started for Sitel. There is a road being constructed from Sitel towards Sutol. It might be completed till Sutol by September. In that case, you can camp at Latakhopri, thats an excelant campsite. Next day you can reach comfortably to Sutol. If vehicles come till sutol in september, you can drive all the way down to Ghat or Karnaprayag.

The only problem is with the time you have chosen for the trek. The entire stretch from Chandania ghat to Sutol passes thorugh thick jungle and there may be serious slush and leaches in September.

Thanks,
JP

@manishmahawar12

I would not have any problem including you in the team, but as you said, you are a newbie, it can be hectic for you for the first time. If it would be only Roopkund then I must ask you to join us, but as we include Ronti Saddle part also, that stretch need at least 2-3 trek's experience.

@Jyoti,

Thanks buddy, and congrats. too for your successful trip to Roopkund-Ronti. I know that is a long 40-45 km. from Dodang to Sutol. As chits007 said, can you provide your itinerary/schedule, it would be of great help.

going for VOF & roopkund trek (14the ex Kol) dont know if can make it up to roopkund & J. Galli.

really want to go to ronti saddle which i cannot cover in this trip as all in our group are first time trekkers excepting me! so roopkund is the bar which i've set for this trip.

@ supratim

let me return from this trip and who knows i might again accompany you for the ronti saddle trek. you go ahead with your tickets & plans. I have & carry my equipments and should not be a problem for you logistically if i join in late. (will be able get info/contacts for the route)
so maybe i'll latch on with you guys again during your trip!!

@manish: Whcih are the trek you have done earlier.

For my trek, I spent and tipped very lavishly and the final expense from Kathgodam to Karnaprayag(Includes 50% money as tip to porters and a party and for Porters and ourselves in Karnaprayag) came to just 7300/person.
