Roopkund and Beyond

Hi Guys,
I am an Adventurer (well sort of) and i want to do the ROOPKUND Trail in the beginning of April and would like to go beyond Roopkund and reach Tapovan by climbing down to the other side of the Roopkund and then taking the northward route. This route is almost straight for 30kms(apprx.). After which one has to turn westwards and walk for 5-10kms. before reaching TAPOVAN. I was curious to know about the weather. I know that it might be snowbound in April but i only have April for the trek. I also wanted to know that has any one done this before?

This route is northwards after you crossover to the other side of Roopkund. You can check it out in google earth.

I doubt whether your will be able to cross the other side of Roopkund in April as the area around Roopkund will be heavily snow-bound. Even if you are able to do it, you have to check whether your proposed route to Tapovan falls under Nandadevi Sanctuary. If so, you will have to get the permit from DFO to trek in Sanctuary. I undersand that only GMVN is permitted to organised trek in Nandadevi Sanctuary.
