hey, hkd is very much possible in winters. i did it in feb-march. and for 2-3 days before i reached hkd, there was a lot of snowfall in that area. still it is possible. and i reached that place without any special stuff.

hi, good u liked the blog. have a nice time in hkd. one of the forum members, chits, just came back from that place. he will post the pics when he has the time. i saw 4 of them...absolutely snow covered...even more than what it was last year. take some dry fruits with u -- they will be needed on the last stretch, where there is a steep climb. also, u can get hold of the chowkidar of the forest rest house. he can come with u or give u the keys.

ok, the forest chowkidar / gmvn chowkidar will not stay in hkd for the winters. so u will have to meet them in the villages below and take the keys from them. or u might ask them to come wiuth u till hkd for a day or two.
