Talking Pictures from eastern Kumaon and Nepal

Hi all,

Phewwwwww......Yipeee, i finally managed to upload 1000+ pics of my last trip to eastern kumaon and nepal.
Do check them out at : http://almoraboy.blogspot.com/2007/0...st-kumaon.html
If u like/dislike it, do leave a comment behind. would like to hear from u.

Todo stuff: break the pages into even smaller ones, since some of the pages have lots of pics and might take a long time to download if u have a slow internet connection. and of course, the write - up. but right now i am totally exhausted, uploading the pics and manually linkng them lal to my blog one by one.

Some trip highlights: Narayan ashram is an awesome place. the most beautiful temple in this world. And the snowfall in munsyari is a must-see in one's lifetime, otherwise ur life in incomplete.

i even tried to capture the hindu kush, some mountains in the balkan regions and the swiss alps from the plane on the ay back.

all the pics r there. enjoy over the weekend.

Cheers,
Almoraboy

That little girl in Munsyari with a nice nose ring is so lovingly clutching her dusty and stained toy! That is an awesome moment! Indeed, a Beautiful moment!! Profuse in innocence and happiness of a kid!

Other fotos are also cool!!

But yes I must say...fotos are tooo big and too many in a single page as you have admitted. I feel you shud have tried Picasa to blog the fotos. Just select the fotos, hold them and "Blog This!". You cud have even added some comments against each foto and probably wud have taken almost or even less time. Moreover all wud be in thumbnails..so, easier on the bandwidth-poor ppl.

and Looks like it was a beautiful weather throughout!

hello amyl

yes, i intend to break up the web pages into even smaller ones...might do it today. i was very tired yesterday night. office + going out with friends + uploading pics in blog. so i just uploaded the pics and zonked out. but that is the next thing on my agenda...wheneever i do it
and then the write up is there.
the little gal's name is aarti. she is the daughter of the couple who run bilju restaurant in munsyari. she is a hyper active kid and even showed us a dance (a movie dance was coming in the tv. so she also started dancing, awesome)!!
and weather was not clear throughout. check the later albums. we had rainfall/hailstorm in bona, seraghat and dharchula. it was raining all the way back from dharchula to munsyari. then in munsyari it snowed cats n dogs it was extremely beautiful at that time.

Talking Road upto Narayan ashram??

Dear Almoraboy,

I just opened the first of eight parts of the Narayan ashram section ... and its taking a very long time... I will have to stay up at night to see your photos...

Till i manage to see all those huge files.... could you throw some light on this question???...

The road upto Narayan ashram is said to be a kucchaa road. Has it become a pucca road yet? Do you have to walk a small distance to reach Narayan Ashram??

The answer is not for me but an old couple who cannot walk much..

hi a trekker,
yup. the road is semi-motorable. jeeps go almost till the door of narayan ashram. by semi motorable, i mean it is fully fit till kanchoti in darma valley.
after that, it is full of stones. so right now the old couple can take a jeep from dharchula to narayan ashram. it is around 110 bucks/person. if they go after a year, then maybe they will find a fully fit, smooth road till n ashram.

i am breaking up the web pages into smaller pages - with 20 pics/page. hopefully it will load faster by tomorrow.

if any picture does not load, then it should display a red cross. now, right click on it and select the option: Display image (or Show picture, or something similar). this way the browser will be "forced" to download the image. u can do that for all the images ones by one/...happy browsing over the weekend

Hi,
Good pics. Is it possible for you to reduce the size and then upload them. May be next time.

Yeah VSK's right. Nice pics, but I stopped short cuz' my connection is a limited bandwidth type. Try and reduce the size of the pics for us lesser mortals. Thanks.

Fantastic photos

hi
What can I say? Too many amazing shots. I have been following your motions all these days uploading the pics to your blogpage.
I could relive some of my travels in that area in the past. We are enjoying a lot.
Great job and well done!
Why don't you put a highlights page with a few best photos of your choosing?

Thanks for SHARING.
