Lovely snow! You were indeed in a wonderland. A wonderful trek it seems.
Sorry for being so ill-informed..... who is Peter Kost? 'Boy', It would be more enjoyable for us visitors if you can upload all those(or henceforth) nice pictures on some web album....Picasa I would recommend. Also easy on the bandwidth usage

Hi,
Peter Kost was some German toutrist, who had come there on a visit a few years ago. He had a heart attack over there and died over there only. |

Nice pictures
Great pictures from a nice trip.
saw most of the pictures on your chilta mai trek from Dhakuri. I was particulrly interested in the views of Panchachuli and Api peaks. For the first time I saw them from this place, through your lens, ofcourse. Greatly enjoyed the scenes. Waiting for the write up. Thanks for sharing! |

I think Api in close up can be had from Chiyalekh onwards. I have n't there myself but there is a route to it's base campfrom Garbyang. I have seen some snaps taken from Gunji. Usually climbers approach from Nepal side. That's from Baitadi to Gokuleswar, there is a jeepable road and from there to the base camp on foot. But that's inside Nepal.
Actually Api and Nampa peaks are visible from Lohaghat onwards. You can see them from Abbot Mount, Dwaj near Pithoragarh, Ogla, Askot, Sirakot(Didihat), Gori-Kali river dividing ridge at Jauljibi. I was told that there is a small hill near Narayan Ashram from there it's possoble to have good views. I have checked your Narayan Ashram pictures. Api is visible, but hidden behind another mountain. I am uploading some pics here. Check out. also at wikipedia- Garkha entry |
