Any Paragliders out there with soaring experience in India, I've heard there are some great locations between Manali and Dharamsala, any suggestions on the best times to fly and some nice places to visit, either in Northern or Southern India would be appreciated, i'm a novice pilot but hope to have my hours up before visiting next year, thanx, hare om jhon

There has been a lot of concerted effort recently to put Kerala,or more specifically Vagamon, among the paragliding spots in India.
This site has most of the details - Paragliding Kerala

So it's very uncertain (Lack of operators) but as I wrote earlier It's an excellent paragliding location & you will be rewarded with excellent views.

If you are a novice, and want to increase experience, go to Kamshet.

In Himachal you would usually get tandems.
Billing you could try. That is best location in Himachal.
Manali section is not for intermediate flying. It is either for absolute fun trips in Solang, or tandem flights

Kamshet, there are some groups who are conducting formal training courses, so I imagine they are better equipped.

If this is still of interest, there's para-gliding at Mussoorie and Naukuchiya Tal in UA too.

Just saw last week on way to Rohtang that the Indian Paragliding Assn. arranges paragliding at Marhi (3300 m). For those who know the place, they take-off from the road directly above the dhabas and chai shops. Stupendous views from up there.
