1000 post - congratulations, Ikuru - I may not have agreed with all of them, but I've always loved reading them.

Final post ditto above. Please don't go ......

Nah, I've got a handle on Ikuru, he's not leaving, just going to reinvent himself. I have been watching the subtle changes in his posts, soon we shall see the all new Ikuru Ji, with a whole swath of different images of himself. Personalities don't go, they just evolve.

Just to get back on the subject again, , I finally got to watch Michael Palin's Himalaya. It was a great program and very entertaining - but - the trekking part just didn't look that appealing to me. Instead of appreciating how beautiful the scenery was, I found myself far more often thinking how bitterly cold and windy it seemed. I really don't think I would enjoy being outside 24/7 in those conditions.

Does anyone know of some good tropical beach treks?

The SW coast of the Tasmanian wilderness is supposed to be a fantastic beach trek/ sea-front trek.

I just thing dear old Micheal was showing his age a little on Himalaya (and he does make complaining such an art form).

Apparently you can walk around Ko Chang island (Trat province), Thailand, in a week or 10 day's time, and it's not for the inexperienced or ill-prepared... sounds like an easily accessible adventure right?

Thanks for the beach tips RTP & machadinha. I'm adding them to my wish list.

BTW machadinha, shouldn't you be a Maha MooMoo Member?

I was just thinking that Moo Moo fit your avatar, but of course, Indian cows wouldn't say that say that, would they?

So - do you all think that Ikuru's 1000th post really was his last? He's been awfully quiet lately. I'm starting to miss him already.
