Being a geek for more than twenty years, I knew exactly what was happening but chose not to react. One of my brothers is an accomplished trekker and climber with several climbs, including Mt. Everest, to his credit. And we always ask him why, but got no convincing reply until he suggested I put it up on this forum to see if I got an answer. Thereafter we each enjoyed replying to each other on this forum always waiting to see what the other wrote. We could have done so verbally at home, but it was more fun in the IM community, with various interesting posts. Until the wrong conclusions were drawn about we three being the same person. If I were pm’ed I would have explained but wasn’t. And although we three do tend to disagree on certain matters, we do agree on one thing. That some harm has been done. We have been held guilty without trial.
Why do I find this hard to beleive?

3 brothers -

Aristocat, trekker2 and pinocchio, all living together in Mumbai yet non wanted to mention that fact.

The brother who has climbed Mt Everest, is he brother number 4 or trekker2?

You chose a strange subject for your first post, but even after people mentioned that it was a strange first post, you attempted to start another thread on exactly the same topic, this kind of activity always gets the attention of the moderators.

Although I found the posts strange, I was happy to let them stay, but then trekker2 apologised to Aristocat prompting docgirl's apology and that bugged me.

I find it very difficult to comprehend that a brother can climb Everest and another brother can't understand why, and then feels the need to ask complete strangers.

trekker2's posts never mention that he's living in Mumbai, this seems a little odd when considering the subjects of some of the posts (seeking trekking info for the Western Ghats), especially when he has such an experienced trekker living with him.

For about an hour yesterday I 'slowed down' all three usernames, but only left Aristocat slowed down to force a response via one of the other usernames.

I must admit I find the idea of someone arguing with themselves a little odd, don't you?
Yes, generally, agreeing is much better isn't it?
Absolutely.

[quote=docgirl2005]Trekking is something I probably would not enjoy as well, but I keep my comments to myself. There are plenty of things that I observe about how other travellers go to India. For example, I dont comprehend why some insist on spending so little and then come back complaining about India...as someone of indian origin it makes me mad..I have seen it here and I have seen it in real life. Its like they assume that since India is a poorer nation, they should be getting cheap deals and assume that there are no richer people in India and if the richer people do exist they shouldnt enjoy their wealth... But you know when I read something like that, I keep my comments to myself. My indiamike experience is worth more to me than trying to straighten out some people. Some of these same people might go as far as saying that my experience in india isnt "Real"...
QUOTE]

could not agree more with the above comments. it embarasses me to see westerners haggling over the smallest sum of money, and being competitive about how little they managed to spend. any thoughts?

“bugged me”, is that what this is all about? Nobody here mentions where they live so why should we unless relevant to the topic. And the brother who is a climber is in the army and down on leave until the month end, hence the OP. The need to ask complete strangers is to get some answer not forthcoming from my sibling. And strange that you did not find docgirls post calling the OP ‘crass’ inoffensive. If you go through the whole post or replies from any of us, none can be termed offensive to anybody. There was no castigation of any person as said by Rob nor any abuse. In fact, the post got quite a few constructive replies. So basically it all boils down to the fact that you, for whatever reason, got “bugged”.

Hi

Hi,
Bugged .... I think anybody would ... I am from Shimla ... I disclose my identity ... Isnt IM a forum about travelers and travel experiences .. and about helping with the right information ... What I believeit isnt about irrelevent debates on why some people trek and why some dont ... It may have been good humor for you ... or even a research ... It was not a good Idea ... you seek answers for why some people love trekking and why some dont ... You name yourself trekker two ... you read all the posts on IM about traveling, walking, Hiking, Road trips .. and still do you feel you have reason to ask .. and if somebody gets bugged you still need an answer for that ... is it not time to turn inwards and do some searching yourself .... and thats what walking in the Mountains does to you ... turning inwards ... searching .... and learning ... I hope you take it in good sense .... and leave the aristocarcy behind, to let complete strangers do the searching for you ...

lets keep the spirit flowing

Cheers,
Dhananjay

Cool off. Smile. A Big Smile. Take some deep breaths. Still feeling hot.
Go away from the computer. Take a break. Go to Hampi. Go to Goa. Go to Kerala.
Take off. NOW.

You guys talking about this place?
