Hi Sachin,

If you have the provision of availing special CL like other govt organisations, then you can use it for the Basic course.

The Basic course is physically demanding and generally it is advisable that the individuals should be well versed with long treks with extra heavy load on their back.

You can give yourself 6 months / 1 year for preaparetion. Anyway, the waiting list at NIM is supposedly 4-5 months long

Possibly, the HMI or DMAS might know?

First try calling NIM & explain your situation... also request them to adjust you in earlier batch if possible. If this doesn't work out then call HMI & inquire them about availability of seats before applying. If you are unable to get confirm seat here as well then only consider remaining options DMAS Manali & JIM in J&K.

I did BMC from DMAS last year. I strongly advice you against it. There is over enrollment and overcrowding situation with too many people line up at the limited number of rockfaces. Even with a routine that requires waking up at 4am, you will still get only one at best two attempts at everything. What is the achievement after the hard work of waking up early 4am for the first 15 days? A picnic style casual once over effort is the best you will manage. If you call they will fib and say they only take 40 students, when you reach there you will find 85 ...

Everything suffers due to this over crowding even th basecamp experience.

Regards

ok. now i know this might be silly to some, but i have tried to courier all forms ( for one of their courses) required to NIM at the address at the website... and guess what!
It was returned by the courier company after 3 weeks saying it could not be delivered for lack of being able to find the address. and no one picked up the phone at NIM, despite the package having reached Uttarkashi.

Would welcome any solutions to my little problem. Looking at attending the course in Sept or Oct, but not sure how to deal with this problem of sending them the form in the first place!
