This is the first month of implementing this new rule (for trekkers who are going beyond Tapovan). Even we are awaiting news from Uttaranchal from actual experiences.

KK will definitely require separate permission as before from DM/SDM's office in Uttarkashi. And if you exit towards Mana, you will need permission from SDM Joshimath as well in advance. An agency will charge you for what's actually a free permit, but given that there are two offices far apart involved, might be an idea.

But we have read of some strange new requirements for KK trek, without any clarity to date. More here.

hii sadanand we r planning to go to gomukh tapovan on 4th of july starting frm kolkata do u have any imformation about guide and porter charges ? and about the permission do you have any ph nos?

Hi ..

as far as i know it is possible only in uttarkashi or Dera-dun
