Mussoorie or Rishikesh for trekking?

I'll be heading toward Garhwal in October for about a week of trekking. I'm hoping to find a guide/porter or another group to hook up with.

Would Mussoorie, Dehra Dun, or Rishikesh be the best place to find a guide or group?

Thanks,

Jason
