winter options
December is too late to go long distance trekking in this region. But if you are in Munsiary around that time, you can go for short 1 or 2 day trekking trips. The higher altitudes will receive snowfall at that time. So you can go upto the snow line and come back. If the snow fall is adequate, you can do little bit of skiing also. For that December may be too early.
Ofcourse you can't go to Milam or ralam. Probably you can go for magnificient view of Panchachuli peaks from Balati farm, Kalia top etc. Also you can go for day picnic nearer to Goriganga river ie Munsiary-Madkot- Jauljibi road. As of now the road to Jauljibi is still under repair. In case you like to walk in the hills, try Almora to Jageswar on foot. It can be quite a bit relaxing trip in the hills. |
