treks in Ladakh
Hi,
I'm planing a trip to ladakh area in august. from reading the LP i understand that are 4 major treks in the area - Likir, Marakah, Nubera Vally and Kar lake. few questions - 1. what is the best trek in your experiance? 2. for Nubera and Kar treks - which is better - renting a jeep on your own or going with an orginized trek? 3. how tough is Marakah trek?? thanks for all... |

The best trek IF you are fit enough is the Lamayuru to Darch - it is the MOTHER of all treks.
Markha is a lovely trek though sometimes there are too many people on the trails but you can change your campsite to preserve your privacy. It involves introductory to moderate level of trekking. Where do you plan to start the Nubra trek? If you want a jeep to pick you up from somewhere - book through an agent (it won't cost you more as there have a fixed rate chart). DO NOT attempt to do the trek alone except the Likir-Temisgam trek.
