Miyar Glacier
I want to go to Miyar Glacier (Chenab Basin) in June next year.
Which of the following routes is the best? 1. Udaipur (Chenab Valley) - Chamrat - Gumba - Khanjar - Miyar Glacier (along thr River Miyar) 2. Purthi (near Killar, Chenab Valley) - Hadiun - Sanari - Tuan - Dagal Pass - Miyar Glacier 3. Darcha (near Jispa, Keylong) - Takpachan - Mayar - Tarsalamu Pass - Miyar Valley - Glacier Khanjar: Altitude? Chamrat: Accommodation? Takpachan: Altitude? Accommodation? |

Miyar Exploration
Check the chapter 13 of Himalayan Journal Volume 61
Pages 139 thru 154 An excellent account of the Miyar Nala Exploration by Jim Lowther touching Miyar Glacier and Jangpar glacier. Will go thru it tomorrow and try to summarise |

Udaypur and Darcha are certainly quicker to approach by road. But HRTC buses go upto Kilar as well.
