Manali leh road opens for traffic from today

ur id is dhuan main pal and all these guys hav actually did that to ur posts becoz the road has opened but only for 1 way traffic and not 2 way yet well when u know about it opening 2 way do let us know at this post then ur post will be a hit i suppose

I have been told that Manali road has been operational and not has been DEAD CLOSED.

" An official spokesman said Manali-Leh road was closed due to snowfall on Baralacha and Rohtang Pass and extensive damage to road due to landslides. Hundreds of tourists, including 70 foreigners, were stranded at various places. "

It's really difficult to get much accurate information about the Leh - Manali road here in Manali. Travel agents are saying that jeeps will be leaving tomorrow morning and a friend of mine here has been told that it will be possible for her to begin cycling to Leh in the morning. On the other hand the media reports reproduced on IM plus those I have seen in the paper suggest a potentially dangerous situation with snow, mountain sickness etc.

It's very difficult to make much of an informed choice!

Travel agents could be wrong-they are interested in montetary benifits only.
latest news is that road is open upto KULLU and further treffic is moving VIA NAGGAR to MANALI.

High passes of ROHTANG and BARALACHA LA has received snow -even SPITI AND KAHUL has seen snow.

I think-it is not safe to move from MANALI to LEH for another 10 days.

Hi,
The road opened on sunday ... however there is apretty bad stretch after Koksar .... Vehicles moving slowly ... but moving ... The road should be open till the 3oth if all goes favorable

Hi,
Things are smooth at the moment ... The road is open and would be open till 15th october ... Kinnaur is still closed ... Though work is on at a good pace .. Weather is nice ... spells of rain and then clear blue skies .. . Everybodys enjoying ... The rush is building up ...
