Looking for partner to climb Stok Kangri in July/August 2012

Hi all,

I am looking for a partner to climb the Stok Kangri peak in July/August 2012. I have tentatively planned for a 5-7 day trip during 11-18th August to utilize the independence day holiday, with 2-3 days of buffer for summit attempt in case of bad weather. Please let me know if anyone's interested in joining or are looking for a partner on this trek as well.

I don't plan to hire any guide or porter at the moment, but I am flexible on this. I plan to hire equipment like crampons, ice axes, tent etc in Leh. In terms of prior experience of trekking at high altitude, I recently completed a trek to Everest base camp.

I think August would be too late for that trip regarding the weather. I am anyhow planning to cycle Leh to Khardung La Pass in June/July and I guess you have given me an idea to add trekking Stok Kangri in my itinerary. How much do they charge crampon, ice axe and tents in Leh. I know about sringar but not Leh. Any idea??

I have booked with India Hikes for the Stok kangri. The trek is starting on 11th Aug. Which route do you plan to take ?

I am interested in climbing the " Stoke". We are driving to leh from Mumbai & expect to reach there on 22nd July. Can we schedule it for 24th of July? Let me know .
