Anyone interested in Khatling glacier trek fro June 4-12,2009?

can you give us more details and the diffculty level of the trek...? i have no prior exp in himalaya trek but wnat to start this year...

The difficulty level of the trek should be moderate- we have been trekking to several places in Himalayas, not the hardcore ones but which are doable for trek-minded couch-bound urbanites.
Here are the details for the trek:
June 3- reach hardwar by train at 4PM, change to rishikesh for the night stay.
June 4- early morning bus (4AM) to ghuttu, reach around 2 PM-arrange for guide and porters and procure provisions
June 5- Ghuttu-Gangi via Reeh, 25 km, moderate difficulty
June 6- Gangi- Kharsoli,12 km
June 7- Kharsoli- Khatling cave, 11 km
June 8- Around Khatling glacier
June 9- glacier- Virodh
June 10- Virodh- Ghuttu
One day has been kept aside for any eventuality, viz, weather, overall physique of the team etc.
June 12- Ghuttu- rishikesh by bus, reach rishikesh in the afternoon, night train from hardwar.
We will be a group of 4 men aged between 25-40 years, with different levels of trekking experience. We will be taking one 4-men tent and one 3-men tent. At present we plan to employ two porters and one guide for 4 persons but that of course, will change depending on the size of the group. The cost per person for the entire trek excluding train fare etc. should not go beyond Rs. 8,000. Whatever the expenditure is, will be equally divided between the participants. We R Also Plaining For This Trek Just One Day After U Start. We Hope To Start Our Journey On July 3rd From Howrah. Hope To See U There.

As the days for the trek are nearing, I would like to have some suggestions from experienced IMers about the availablity of guides and porters for the trek. As spelt out in lonely planet that local youths previously engaged in such activities are now employed in a hydel power project that is being made on Bhilangana near Ghuttu. As we are planning to reach Reeh by the sameday as we reach Ghuttu, is that going to be a problem? Elsewhere in the net, I found people hiring guides from Gangi, but I feel that can be a little risky given the communication gap that might creep in. Please advise.
