Inner line permit, Gangotri to Mana trek

Hello,
we will be 2 of us for gangotri mana trek for september month. my question is will we be able to get innerline permit at uttarkashi for 2. any suggestions, thanks

It is not as easy as it looks but also not difficult. No one knows the reason but civil authorities do not like civilians to go this way. But sometimes, they allow. This is gambling..a little bit..as if you could not obtain a permit...your whole effort goes in waste.

Better try to obtain permit well in advance, so that you could have some alternative.

NO one knows reasons but what I make up from various conflicts with civil and ITBP force is..that there are some meetings being held and these rules are made and modified there. Even sometimes...civil officers do not know what changes were made.
One such change is use of VIDEO CAMERA. And second change was Indians were also required to obtain a PERMIT and there had been reports of very strict search of baggage by ITBP officers.

If I am not mistaken are we not talking about Gangotri to Badrinath via Kalandi khal route. The permits are issued by the DM's Office and its better to go through the guide who is going to be leading you. I do not see much of a problem and this year many teams have already crossed the pass without problem.
