Info required forTrek to Milam Glacier

Dear freinds,
I'm new to trekking. If you can please guide me on my first trip to Milam .
We are three people who would be doing the trek.things I would like to know are

1. Will a guide be required for the trip? is the path well marked.

2. Is it necessary to carry tents with us on the trip?

3. Also are there any permit / permission required for the trek?

4. We are planning to do the trek in the month of may, is this the right time for it?

Also any tips/info regarding the amount of luggage we should carry and some essential items that would be required please do share the details.
