help needed : how tough is Sandakphu Gurdum Trek

hello everyone...
i'm shibu from orissa. i'm participating in the sandakphu-gurdum trek being organised by yhai in december 2008. since this is my first trek....i would like to know the level of difficulty and some tips for the trek. What about shoes??

neway I think it would be a wonderful trip at this time of year
and make sure you are fully equipped as you may encounter Snow

thank you BEYOND. My trek is from 7th to 14th December 2008.

you'll need good hiking boots, sleeping bags, down jacket etc.. Apart from the shoes, i wouldn't buy anything new - if the reqd. items are not offered by the organizers (find out first!), it would be best to hire them in Darjeeling (or wherever you're based). Expect very steep trekking - level of diff. actually depends on your physical condition & what you're used to.
I suppose you can expect to get food on the way, but to make sure i'd take dried fruits, raisins & nuts along anyways.
