help:buran ghati
we are a group of university students having great passion for trekking.we have a little bit of experience of trekking in Rupin pass(4625m), chandratal lake etc.we wish to trek in BURAN GHATI PASS (shimla district)in the end of May 2008 from Rohru side to Sangla.
Could anyone tell about the weather conditions and how to reach the road head from Delhi.(public transport preferred)Shortest route through dehradun or shimla side? |

Deep snow in May
There will be deep snow in May. Even the locals attempt the Buran Pass crossing after 15th June. Better after 15th July. Best is September.
Take a bus Delhi to Shimla. From Shimla, take a bus to Rohru and jeep upto Deudi. Trek starts. Deudi -- Janglikh -- Dera Thach -- Litham -- Chandernahan ---- cross over Buran Ghati 4275m ---- to Brua Kanda -- Sangla. Total 6 days trekking. Just a mild warning... dont attempt it in May, unless you have mountaineering experience and equipment. . . .

Find your way to Paonta Sahib or Nahan. Then bus or jeep to Hatkoti or Rohru. As may be clear, you may have to change en-route.
