Har Ki Dun - The valley of Shiva

Hello everybody,
Myself and my friend Achinta have made trip to Har Ki Dun during May end 2010. The experience was amazing. We have followed the below schedule -
  1. 21st May 2010 (Friday)- Boarding Rajdhani Express from Sealdah.
  2. 22nd May 2010 (Saturday) - Reaching Delhi and boarding Jan Shatabdi for Dehradun. Overnight at Dehradun.
  3. 23rd May 2010 (Sunday)- Reaching Sankri by a hired car. Overnight at GMVN TRH Sankri.
  4. 24th May 2010 (Monday) - Proceeding to Taluka by car. Trekked up to Seema. Overnight at Forest Rest House
  5. 25th May 2010 (Tuesday) - Reaching Har Ki Dun and Stay Overnight at Forest Rest House
  6. 26th May 2010 (Wednesday) - Visiting Morinda Taal in morning and proceeding few steps towards Yamdwar glacier. N/H at Forest Rest House
  7. 27th May 2010 (Thursday) - Returning back to Seema with a visit to Osla. N/H at Forest Rest House , Seema
  8. 28th May 2010 (Friday) - Returning back to Taluka and then reaching Sankri by car. N/H at GMVN TRH Sankri
  9. 29th May 2010 (Saturday) - Reaching Dehradun from Sankri by a hired Car
  10. 30th May 2010 (Sunday) - Rest day at Dehradun. Planned for an extra day in case we needed to trek between Sankri and Taluka
  11. 1st June 2010 (Monday) - Reaching Delhi via Jan Shatabdi and boarding Boarding Rajdhani Express
  12. 2nd June 2010 (Tuesday) - Reaching Sealdah

From Day 4 till Day 8 we were under a package provided by Ramlal Panwar. Debu and Amartya (two bengalee guy working at Chandigarh) were also part of the same package. We four spent a nice time together.

Thanks for sharing your photo journey - it was most interesting. What a lot of work it must have taken you to compile all of this. Only one thing is missing - a map of the route that you took. With that it would be perfect.

I have not included any map because this route is a very wellknown and well gone place. All the necessary information is available easily in web.

Most of the pictures (99%) have been taken by "Canon PowerShot SX20 IS". Rest were captured by "Canon Powershot A520".

If you select a single picture in Picasa, you can get all the info from the right hand side frame.
