Guide Needed for Pindari Glacier Trek (Solo Female Trekker)

I've been doing research in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve (Garhwal side) for the past nine months. When my research ends in mid-May, I'd like to do a trek. I am thinking about Pindari Glacier trek because is on a different side of Nanda Devi and has tea houses.

I don't want to go with a group, because I'm used to trekking around at my own pace, but I would like a guide. Can anyone recommend a reliable guide for a solo female traveler? Also, I speak Hindi.

Any advice regarding this trek or suggestions for other treks is also welcome.

Hi Erica,

You can easily arrange a guide for Pindari once you reach Loharkhet or Khati.

If you really want to arrange one beforehand then try to search the contact details of Debu in the Pindari glacier threads in Indiamike. Debu is from Khati and many have recommended his name.

You would also be able to get one through the KMVN in Bageshwar if you wanted someone to accompany you to the beginning at Song. Also the chowkidar at Loharkhet Forest Rest House offered this.

PS could you guys report back on the condition of the shepherds huts near Baba Ji's temple about 1 km short of the glacier?
