1st Nov - Chaurigang - Bikbari - Dzongri- 16km
2nd Nov - Dzongri relax
3rd Nov - Dzongri - Thangsing - 8Km
4th Nov - Thangsing - Lamune or Zematang
5th Nov - Lamune/Zemantang - Goecha la pass - Lamune, whether permits and stamina works we can do Goecha to yangitar
6th Nov - Laumne - Kokchurung
7th Nov - Kokchurung - Toshka
8th Nov - Toshka - Yuksom (again can be done in 2 days)
9th Nov - Yuksom - New Jalpai Guri

hey Johy99,

Thanks for extending your hands, i am sure either way you will be very resourceful to us
Do share you travel plan, guide details etc.

I specifically didnt took Oct 1st and 2nd week, as i was told this is the rush period, as durga puja leaves etc push out a lot of tourists in to this region leading to unwanted high prices and lack of services, so post diwali was given as best time to start with.

Wish a you a very happy trekking Lets keep in touch with.

Cool would be fun to have good team up there
Also, I am trying to figure out if HMI base camp (Chaurigang) is considered as Kanchenjunga basecamp or not, there is no clarity on this. I will talk to the guide there to have some clarity. Feel free to discuss any thing that comes in mind in regard to trek, like equipments, itinerary, weather, activity etc.

I did checked out trek on google earth, it looks good

I also found that Green Lake trek also leads to Mount Kanchenjunga base camp, which is in zemu glacier valley. http://himalayan_journeys.tripod.com/SKTRK-151.htm

But few also call the HMI base camp as Kanchenjunga base camp, which lies at chaurichang, planed to cover on 31stoct.

And every Goecha la planner should visit http://www.panoramio.com/user/137404...ha%20la%20trek

Trekker covered photographs of almost entire trek, so we can virtually explore the same. Try this on google earth.

Thanks for the updates Cybermen and Viny. Problem is I have a trekking partner who has very little flexibility with time. Still, we are seeing if we can go a bit later. Will lay out details once they are finalized.

Hi Viny,
Your itinerary looks okay. Makes sense to spend two nights camping at Lamuney. It is a lovely and scenic place. Look out for blue sheep which frequent the area. There are foxes too but I didn't see them. Lamuney is the last site permitted by the Park for camping. Chemathang/Zemathang is some 2-3 hours further up from Lamuney and camping is no longer permitted there.

Yeah. The HMI training camp is mistaken for the Kanchenjunga base camp, which is actually in Nepal since (I think) one is not permitted to climb the mountain from the Indian side due to religious/cultural beliefs.
