Just came back from this trek. It was an awesome experience. The only trek I did before this one was Sar Pass Trek(in parvati valley in himalayas) by YHAI. I didn't expect it to be as good as the Sar Pass one, but I was proved wrong. Trekking in Goa/karnataka meant we had the luxury of bathing in the river daily unlike the himalayan treks where we don't bath for 10-11 days! In fact, on some days we bathe 2-3 times! The weather was hot at the basecamp, but was pleasant afterwards. Nights required a blanket.
Sailing was introduced in Goa trek for the first time. But due to difficulty in getting sufficient number of sailboats, only 15 lucky trekkers got the chance to travel in it.(Yes! I was lucky ) Ohh.. I am getting carried away and the post is getting too long.. Abandoning it... Would write a detailed post on my blog sometime. Do share your experiences and pics.

I did the Goa trek a long time back (2004) and did para sailing on the Majorda beach, the one and only time in my life. Do you still get a chance to do para sailing? Is the base camp still in Campall?

@mridula:
Parasailing was not included in the trek in 2008. But we had sailing (move with the help of winds on a sail boat).

Sandeep thanks for the reply. Parasailing was included in the cost of the trip but if one wanted to the opportunity was there. I did not write clearly the previous time.

Thanks for the photographs, Dudhsagar and Tambdi Surla I could recognize instantly.

YHAI Goa Biking Expedition 2009-10

Hey all,

I am just back from a wonderful biking trip to Goa Unexplored! I was in the first batch of the season and it was an awesome experience. The biking expedition was of medium difficulty what with the uphill climbs and the sweltering heat - awesome nevertheless!

Riding through Bhagwan Mahavir National Park and climbing up to Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary was exhilarating and the climbs on the last day were very tiring. On the whole a very different and memorable experience.

Looking forward to the Sailing Expedition next year!

And the pictures here - Goa on Wheels!

Cheers!

Hi!

I was wondering if you could tell me how you find out about these expeditions. I checked out the YHAI website and it only lists the national programs which are mostly in the Himalayan region. The Goan trip sounds fabulous and I'd like to explore other such options. Thanks a lot.

You are answering a query which was asked in January!
BTW, I would appreciate, if you could share your experience with others!
If you visit this page, you would find the program for Summer season also though they have not linked it with the details! Generally it occurs in Mid-January.
Regards, PraKaant
