Family Holiday at Kalimpong

Have a not-so-adventurous wife and two kids, aged 7/2. Based out of Kolkata, and was planning a trip to Kalimpong from 18-22 June..Needed some tips from Feloow Travellers...

1. I hear rains are already there in the NE...how would be the weather during my stay(I know it will rain, but how bad (Good??) would it be?
2. Needed to stay in a resort which had activities of some kind for Kids as well as the other facilties of a 3/4 Star kind of Hotel. Shortlisted Holumba Haven from what I see on thier site (http://www.holumba.com/)..Anybody had any other options?
3. Sightseeing - I am going to be there from 19th Midday to 22nd Midday...wanted to do some trekking with my 7 yr old son, and some other things with the full family...any suggestions other than the trips to the Monasteries?
4. Whats the price of hiring cars from NJP to KMPNG, for the whole trip?

Thanks for the help in advance

Where in kalimpong do you plan to stay ? I was there on the 1st day of june 06 ! It was raning at bagdogra/silliguri and skies all through out my trip was overcast but i was lucky enough on my darjeeling visit the skies opened up and sun god was shining nice and good for the tiger hill trip as well as on my market visit i could watch the blue K2 tip s guess what when i was watchin them i was so spellbound that i forgot about the camera hanging around my neck !!
Sorry coming back to Kalimpong there is a nice green house which you can visit and watch a good number of cactus the {plural is cactii ?} there is a huge Lord bajrangbali idol in the middle of nowhere the small market is good for a walk !!!
Taxis are easily available i was staying at a hotel called HOLUMBA HEAVEN nice place you can chek it s website
