If you are comfortable with the cold and snowfall then it will be fine.Hopefully, with some luck you will be able to catch a view from Dzongri top.If not, it will be an interesting journey at the least.

I have done the Yuksom-Dzongri-Thangsing trek in May 2007. Dec is quite late in the season and could be very cold. Oct-Nov, the visibility is great. I am not sure about Dec.

The view from hillock above Dzongri is impressive. But personally, i saw better views of Kanchenjunga and Mt Pandim from Thangsing. It's even better if you can trek towards Samiti Lake and Goe-chala.

Yes I have been there. On a clear day the view of the total range from Dzongri Top is very good indeed. The best thing is to avoid the trekker's hut and pitch tents on the meadow half a kilometer across the ridge. The views are splendid from there. But in December with the cold and possible snowfall, that can be difficult.
