Hi dolovenature,

Answering ur queries one by one:
1) Is it possible (rather doable) at that time?
Depends on weather condition and ur physical and mental strength.Chances of moderate to heavy snow enroute.
2) Is it possible to reach NJP via darjeeling from Rimbik in a day?( we had booking at dajeeling mail at 8.00 pm)
Yes...you can reserve a car or can catch early morning share jeep from Rimbik.Alternatively u can comedown to Sukhiapokhri from Rimbik via Mane..and get shares to Siliguri.
3) Any friendly & experienced guide to accompany us/
Contact Masterji(Jeevan Chetry @9733044512) for any info>he is a very helpful and influential man a Mane.He will help u out.

Cheers,

Tanbag

Hi Saikat,
It is possible and also more adventurous but January is not the season for this trek. The bitter cold and occasional snowstorms can make things tough. Walking on hill stations and trekking is totally a different ball game.Since you are a first time trekker, it is advisable to take some one experienced with you( other than guide).Surely, you do not want your first trekking experience to be your last one.
Or else you can try it in late March/ early April. A very good time for this trek.

@ Tonmoy

Tumling->Shikhar Lodge: 009779742615068

Sandakphu-> Sherpa Challet: 09832039512

Dont have any other no. with me.

In december I dont think there will be so many people going. And there are too many accomodation options these days.So you dont have to worry about that.

We encountered zero degree temp. at Phalut and in Sandakphu it was 2 degrees or so.So in Dec end expect bitter cold situation at both the places. The wind factor is also very demanding. So take good clothings according to that situation.

Hello Samya

The contact information of Sikhar Lodge is confusing, there are more than 10 digits in the number, please give the actual number.

Your uploaded pictures are awesome, need description.

I have heard Siddartha Lodge is better than Sikhar Lodge from the view perspective, please give your view ?

Thanks,

thanx traveljoy , tanbag and others for the suggestions....

after having a discussion with my team members we finally seleced to start on 5th of december from kolkata with return train on 13th of December.

eternity was same as posted earlier...3 days to reach sandakfu from manebhanjan..........one day to reach phalut from sandakfu and two days to descend from phalut to rimbik.....

Is it doable during that period???

we are a team of three members...what can be the approx cost??

Is there any necessity to book lodge at phalut??

and finally any body willing to accompany us at that period?

Need to have the suggestions from you again...

thanks

The No. of the Shikhar Lodge is the correct no.Its Nepals No. , hence you need to dial the country codes before that.So I have given the total no.

Veiw wise shidharth may be better but You will never forget Nila Didi of Shikhar Lodge. Also the food is very good.SO I will recommend you to stay at Shikhar Lodge any day.

Hi Saikat.........

December will be quite chilly there, specially in Sandakphu and Phalut. As I told before we encountered zero degree at Phalut so in december it will be lot chilly and windy.

A good Holofil Jacket or a Down Feather Jacket will do it for you.

And this was also the first trek for my group members(Except me as I did Hiley-Barsey in may this year). So most people do this as there first trek.

Happy Trekking ....

Cheers........

Thanks for your wish....

just few questions.

1) Is it possible to complete samadin/gorkhey to rimbik in a day? If yes how much does it take? (we have to reach NJP by 7.30pm next day to catch the kolkata bound train.)

2) Since our budget is on lower side we are not going to purchase the jacket. So where from we can hire the down father jacket?

3) And finally is there any mobile connections?

Thanks again for your suggestions.
