Samya.
from manabhanjan take a car up to dhotre about 30kms and start your trek from there. you will gain 6kms in this way. the only thing is that you will miss chitre and meghma, but this rout is much better than the manebhanjan trail. so first day u can reach Gairibas comfortably. the next day start early and go to Sandakphu. there is no need to stay there for a extra day.

I completely agree in the with nil, Samadin is the best place in the entire rout and its not worth to stay in rambam. the hut in samadin is Hidden valley lodge and looked by lakpa and migma and this is the only place to stay there.

Itinerary

22/10: Manabhanjan
23/10: Gairibas via Dhotre
24/10: Sandakphu
25/10: Rest day
26/10: Phalut
27/10: Gorkhey\ Samadin
28/10: Sreekhola
29/10: Darjeeling via Rimbik
30/10: Rest day
31/10: NJP

I think this will solve your problem. another suggestion instead of staying an extra day in Sandakphu, try staying it in Gorkhey and Samadin.

Now I am looking to stay at SAMANDEN instead of Gorkhey.But the only question is that, we will get accomodation or not.As there is no advance booking method I think that we have to start quite early and reach as quickly as possible.How will be the rush in that rout at that time of the year?Now as my itinerary is fixed that is my only worry..

newayz I must thank all of u for helping me on that.Being a new to this site I must say U guys are WONDERFUL and the most helpful lot. thanx buddies...Really appreciated ....Cheers....

Your new itinerary now looks fine.
I would still suggest you to stay at Gorkhey instead of Samanden, for 3 reasons:
1. More staying options at Gorkhey
2.Samanden is only 1 km from Gorkhey on way to Rammam/Srikhola.So,if you leave early next day, you can very well spend some time at Samanden too.
3.I personally found Gorkhey more beautiful for the simple reason that there was a river(actually 2.....Gorkheykhola and Rammamkhola)at Gorkhey which further beautified an already very beautiful place.

May I suggest one more option?
Take a jeep from Maneybhanjan (towards Rimbik) & get down at Dhotrey. Trek from Dhotrey to Gauribas in Day 1. (U surely will miss the first majestic view of the Sleeping beauty from Chitre but ur days are limited. Sis & others can comment if Dhotrey -> Kalipohkri can be cover in one day or not.

So the itenary will be Dhotrey-> Tonglu-> Gauribas-> Kalipokhri-> Sandakhphu-> Phalut-> Gorkey-> Rammam-> Srikhola-> Sippi

Check this out
http://www.geocities.com/bhuniahoo/sandak_map.ppt

Although the route is marked as not safe, we queried about this on our way back & learned it to be absolutely ok.

Thanx sandeepbwn..

But I think its better to go through a more conventional route as its our first trek.so I just want to stick to that Itinerary for now.thanx for the suggession though.

Today I went to Ubak.They have a 30 ltr SACK which will cost 1050 & a 50 ltr SACK which will cost 1560.Is that price ok? I am thinking of buying the 50 ltr one.I will also go to Ria & Alpine & also looking to go to Idris...Which will be best for me?

you can save yourself a day as you can go to sandakphu easily in two days. day 1 jowbari or gairibas & day 2 sandakphu. that gives you an entire day more to savour the views from phalut.
Until & unless you specifically want to stay @ the two places (tumling & kalapokhri)

I personnaly vote for Samanden. At the end of your day's trek and at morning till you start your trek, you can take a cup of tea, seat at the balcony, or at your room under the sweet warmth of your blanket,and look outside , and the whole valley with all its majestic grandeur will come to you. The first ray of sun takes some time to touch the valley because of surrounding high mountains. Because of little population, Samanden is very calm. You can see 2-3 villagers working at the field. 2-3 little boys/girls driving their cattle for grazing. There is a primary school here and the village gets some noise at the school-time only. At night, you can enjoy the eerie silence, background music of Gorkey-khola and flow of air in the pine forest with occasional chirping of night-crawling birds and insects.

<Kabya kore fellam!!!>

From the rooms at Gorkey, you can not view such a majestic beauty. You have to go outside your room. The village is a bit populated. But overall, grazing at Gorkey is a plesant experience.

To me both Samadin and Gorkhey are wonderful place, but i still think samadin is better. it is only 15 mts walk from gorkhe so if u by chance don't get any room you can always walk back 10 mts. but dont miss having a cup of tea sitting on the bench of lost valley lodge. and even if u decide to stay in samadin try to walk back to gorkhey and spend few hrs there.
