Climbing wall in Delhi

Hi,
I'll spend the next 3 months in south delhi and I would like to know if there are some good indoor climbing walls. I searched on google but I didn't find much. And if you're looking for a climbing partner, I'm in.

not sure about Delhi, but there's plenty around Mumbai and Bangalore. check out the websites and check with the folks from there. also, some folks from delhi hang out at rockclimbing.com.

actually rc.com has some routes listed by local climbers if not mistaken. so message the users...

google up Bhramanti & Girivihar for mumbai. there's a climbing wall in mumbai (well pointless tho for u... but to connect the dots back to Delhi) - at Goregaon.

bangalore. dreamroutes.org & bangalore climbers on yahoo groups.

orkut.com is a preferred social networking site for Indians. try that. as well.

There are some options in delhi..unfortunately i cant access half of my resource sites right now thanks to the speed but will do so from office and let u know...

Thank you, aparently there are also some good natural sites around Delhi. I'm afraid april temperatures are a bit to warm to climb outdoor.

Hi,
For sports climbing wall you can go to Indian Mountaineering Foundation complex near south campus, not far from South Delhi. Just move on the ring road and take left turn for South Campus after Moti Bagh flyover. You will get company there on Sat and Sundays for sure.
For natural climbing just next door try the rocks at Laadu Sarai, near Kutub Minar.
Go by seven in the morning and it is pleasent then.

Hi Shamul
I go climbing in the Indian Moutaineering Foundation (it is next to Delhi University South campus, near Chanakyapuri but on the other side of the ring road). I usually go on wednesday evening, but you can go every day after 6pm except monday, and also on the morning during the week-end.
You will always find a climbing partner there.
For the moment it's difficult to contact me cause I overflowed my phone...

Sounds interesting, would love some more information.

How tall is the climbing wall?
Would I be able to use my ATC, or is it set up with fixed Grigris?
Last but not least, will I have to wait until later in the year, or is it air conditioned?

2. god knows if they will allow u to do wat u please, but hey 'EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE' . be optimistic.
