Choices for trekking in mid November

Folks,

What are good choices for a 3-5 day trek in mid - November in Uttaranchal / Himachal?

I assume many of the usual trek routes discussed here are going to be inaccesible/unadvisable due to snow, would be great to know of routes in the lower altitudes that might still be possible to do.

Cheers!

I've looked extensively, since this is the time I am going trekking as well. None > 3500 m. I think Chandrashila is the highest you can get to.

Try Nepal.

I also read from other posts here that Har-ki-dun trek is possible in November. Can anyone confirm this?

HKD trek will require at least 7 days to and fro Sankri.
OP has only 3 - 5 days' trek in mind.

chandrakhani pass trek

there's beautiful 4 day trek from naggar near manali to malana village over the chandrakhani pass. malana village is famed to be the oldest democracy in the world and is settled by the soldiers of Alexander the Great's army, who chose to stay back and inttermarried with the locals.... its b'ful!!!

Dodi Tal in Nov 10-18th

All,

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. We had a tough choice but we've decided on the Dodi tal trek. Me and a friend are planning to do this trek between Nov 10-18th. We are looking for 1/2 more people to join the trek. In case you are interested in joining us, just get in touch with me.

Cheers

Solo_trekker had very kindly made an itinerary for me which might be of interest to you (slightly edited)Nov10-18

badrinath would be great at this time - nice n cold and with no one there - the best time -the view of neelkanth peak towering above badrinath is just mesmerising...!

btw, hemkund sahib closes in the first week of October.

a possible plan :
leave haridwar as early as possible - say 5 a.m.
if u catch a public bus, get a seat on the left (thatz so for any mode of transport...!) - after srinagar, u get to have the alaknanda river on your left for a good 6-7 hours...!
if u catch the 5 a.m. bus, u can even cross joshimath the same day, and reach govindghat, where u can spend the night... but, if u catch a bus at 6 a.m., the bus will stop over for the night at joshimath... thatz ok too, as u can see this place too and take the same bus around 6 a.m. the next morning...

day 1 - haridwar to joshimath / govindghat
day 2 - reach ghangharia after a 14 km trek
day 3 - trek to valley of flowers and back to ghangharia
day 4 - early morning trek to govindghat and reach badrinath by afternoon.,
day 5 - Spend time in Badrinath,Mana and u can (just about) trek to vasudhara falls, stay overnight in Joshimath/Auli.
day 6 - leave Joshimath/Auli early morning to ensure u reach haridwar the very same evening.

Thanks SSG

In fact, this looks like a very interesting alternative to Dodital.

As of now, we intend to trek Kalyani - Agoda - Dodital - Seema - Yamunotri, provided the Darwa pass is open.
