Hi,
Have a look at the gnvnl.com site for info. Keep days in had for inclement weather and landslides.

Thumbs up

Chorabalital is possible but Vasukital may not be. Are you a hardcore trekker? Vasukital is a tough route over the boulders.

Hi.... Recently, I did Yamunotri (14th July) and Gangotri-Gaumukh (17-19th july). They were quite easy treks and nice. For more details see my posts in the thread:

Hi KS
do u went upto tapovan or Nandanvan frm Goumukh ?
I saw the phtos of VOF uploaded by u & those r really attractive.
After seeing the photos i hv decided to trek to VOF ,cutting down the Yamunotri frm Chardham.
I heard that there is another trek route to Hemkund Sahib frm the base of VOF.
Plz, provide inf.mn. on that trek also.
I also extended my leave So I hv plenty time (22 days) for this Tindham tour & Trek.
Plz, provide some other Short trek route frm Tindham.

Hi Dhritiman-Da,

Bhalo Aacchen?

No, I did'nt go to Tapovan or Nandanvan (see the thread titled: Valley of Flowers vs. Har-ki-Dun ... for more details of my VoF tre etc.). I didnt do Hemkund .. which is a 1 day to and fro from Ghangaria ....the common base for VoF. I am not duplicating my trek VOF Info as it is already posted over several posts in teh above thread.

I have no idea about Tindham or treks thereof. Maybe some others will reply to that point.... KS

I suggest you first do the trek to VOF and Hemkund, then go to Badrinath (require 6 days from Haridwar). From Badrinath, you can go to Chopta. Stay overnight at Chopta and trek to Tungnath-Chandrashila-Chopta (require 2/3 days from Badrinath). From Chopta you can go to Gaurikund via Kund-Guptakashi-Sonprayag. Then Gaurikund-Kedarnath-Gaurikund (require 3 days from Chopta). Then you do Gourikund to Uttarkashi ( 1 day), Uttarkashi to Gangotri-Bhojbasa-Gaumukh-Gangotri (3days)and Gangotri- Haridwar ( 1 day).

I suggest yoy drop the idea of trekking to Vasukutal from Kedarnath and Nandanvan/Tapovan from Gaumukh unless all of you are hardcore trekkers. Even trek to Hemkund is a bit hard.

Happy pilgrimage and trekking

Sadanand

OK .. now I understood your Tindham.... you meant Teen-dham (as in CharDham).. .. SK already answered your question. In july-07 I did a similar one ... but clockwise HKD, Yamunotri, Gangotri-gaumuk and VOF ..... details posted in the HKD Vs VOF thread mentioned, started by Sadanand.

1. Yes.

2. I took a guide to Basukital from Kedarnath For Tapovan I took guide from Gangotri.I, however, could not trek Tapovan due to freuqent rockfalls on way from Gaumukh to Tapovan.

3. I used sports shoes of a well known make which which was good enough for me.
