Char Dham, May 2010, Specific Questions

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum, and I've done my best to comb through the multitude of Char Dham threads before postings these questions. I would really appreciate any help.

I'm trying to hit the four dhams with as much walking and as little bussing as possible next May and June. Here is what I need to know:

1. Can anyone recommend a guide for the Dodital route, west to east, from Yamunotri to Gangotri? I have found a few companies that do a Yamunotri Gangotri trip, but they all seem to cater to people who would like to drive by way of Barkot and Uttarkashi. I just want a guide, nothing else.

2. For Gangotri to Kedarnath, I would like to take the Old Yatra route by Latasera, Ghuttu, Trijugi. Again, can anyone recommend a guide or company just for this portion? I'm really just looking for a guide--I don't want (to pay for) all the frills that seem to come with these tour operators.

And lastly, I realize there is a place for advertising trekking partners, but if anyone is free around this time, let me know, I'd love the company. Thanks in advance, this is a great forum.

for chardham yatra i would love to join you as your treking partner.
i am planing for the same.
for dodital route i can help you no need of guide.
i live in garhwal only so i know most of the places.

treak route for yamunotri to gangotri would be..
---Yamunotri- Hanuman Chatti - Dodital -Malla - Kalyani -Raktwarn Glacier - Gaumukh- Tapovan -Gaumukh-1 Gangotri--

and gangotri to kedarnath route is..

Gangotri - Lata (1700m) - Belak Khal (2750m)
drive down about 72 kms to a small village Called Lata, from where we begin our second part of the Trek--

Belak Khal - Budhakedar (1530m) in 6h
--Budhakedar - Baghi Chatti (2600m) in 05h-
--Bhaironchatti - Ghuttu (1600m) in 5h--
Ghuttu - Panwali Khanta (3150m).
-Panwali Khanta - Maggu (3050m) - Triuginarain (1990m) in 5h-
---Triuginarain - Gaurikund - Kedarnath..

so this are some details..

And what about Kedarnath to Badrinath?

this route is very hard what i know but we can plan out but for this route we must need guide and porter and cook with us..

At the moment, yes, it's just me on the trek. Is this important? A few others have expressed interest in coming.

Depending on cost, I would be willing to do the K-B option.
