Question Bad Road

The unfinished road crosses the Sach Pass.

Some biker from IM did bike it upto 10 km short of the Sach Pass on the Chamba side and posted a pic (don't know how to find it) (Search "Sach pass"??)

Its now sort of inhabited area, and you should be able to find something to eat and rest your body. Either villages or dhabas or both.

Last year i wanted to risk taking a jeep up the Pass but could not due to lack of time. A bus service was to have been started, but dont know its progress.

It was a regular trekking route till 10 years back, so trekking is definitely a "go ahead"

Sorry for my guesses. I wish I could have given you first hand info

There is now vehicle service (shared jeep type) from Chamba through Sach pass to the other side, upto Killer. This road is called the Chamba-Killer highway. From Killer, you can proceed to Keylong. Road condition is very bad. But I cannot predict mid-OCtober, if it snows, better forget it. It is very rough.

its not KILLER ... its KILAAR or KILAR or KILLAD (pronounced as KILAAD)

KILAAD is the headquarter and the only town for the Pangi valley.

Someone who will know

the people at this website (www.himalayanlap.com) will know. they work in the area and have crossed the pass many times. Their guest house is also an excellent place to stop off at on the way.
