beware of travel agents...
For gomukh tapovan trek in this Oct2005 we hired Snow Spider Treks and Tours for porters, guide cum cook and tent from Uttarkashi. their agent met us at famous Bhandari hotel. But unfortunately they didn't perform well enough and put us in hazards.
they sent one less porter but chagred for thet extra elusive one. their guide didnt serve well and last but not the least the charged some extra hidden charges after we came back. If any one is going in thet region be ware of that in particular or this kind of agents. before the trek they did talk sweetly and convincingly but when it came to billing they came up with some voodo amounts. even the fact that we had a hand written bill didn't do any good. we were in hurry to catch the bus (that stopped for lunch at uttarkashiand we went tpo payback the remaining amount) and they took advantage of the situation. so if anyone going in that region take care and depend only on agencies with good reports or reputation.
