bad weather on kalindi pass route.

Read today in the local newspaper that bad weather prevails on the kalindi route. A team from Mumbai and some expeditions to Satopanth are stuck up at Vasuki Tal and Sweta Glacier.

A team of ITBP has left to rescue them but they are also not able to go ahead due to bad weather.

The local administration had stopped expeditions from kalindi on 19th Sep onwards.

One of the member stuck from Mumbai team is probably Kavita. She had to do Kalindi with me but then she dropped out. She started from Mumbai on 15th Sep and had to start the trek around 18th Sep from Gangotri.

Last info that I got from my guide in Uttarkashi is that they had heard about an Indian Group from Mumbai stuck near Sweta Glacier.

If anyone from your trekking circle can get info about them from any of your local contacts there, this would be great.

what a news

u discovered!!!!! we're just starting on 3rd Oct from Kolkata for Tapovan-Nandanvan. Can u tell, what is the weather condition?? or the hvy snow only creating the problem??? is the weather is also very bad like- very foggy, drizzling or snowing, we have to think about an alternative route. what a upset, damn.

the good news is that kavita and the members of her group are now safe as i talked to one of the members yesterday. They have climbed down safely and all is now well with them....best regds ajay
