1st priority is for Svarga-rohini: Is it possible to trek it in these days and whats the Itinerary.
2nd priority is Satopanth:
3rd priority is Kedar Taal:
Kindly let me know the complete trek route if u can do so.
Anyone can join us (no smoker or drinkers please!!!)

Snow...
Quote:
Trek timings are at the fag end of the season... be prepared for sudden snowfall at these heights.1. Mount Swargarohini is out of question, unless you are going moutaineering, then again, timing is too late.
2. Satopanth lake is possible, provided no fresh snow.
3. Kedar Taal also subject to "no fresh snow"

Here is how you plan it10th to 22nd gives you 10 days.
I am mot telling you the days in between but where you want to go and how:
Swargorohini and Satopanth.
Satopanth, (I assume is Satopanth Tal not Satopanth Peak)is athree day trek from Badrinath.
Day 1 Badrinath to LAkhiban (caves are there carry food I had my tent)
Day 2 Lakhiban to Charkratirtha again caves are there.
Day 3 Chakratirtha to Satopanth Lake, One Kalikamali Ashram with one room is there caves are also there.
Day 4 If you are not going to the other tals You can reach Badrinath the same day provided you start early.
Do not forget to register your names at the ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police)post at Mana. Written Permission is not required.
The route is not trecherous but you have to cross glacier before reaching the tal
Now comes the tricky part if you want to go to the base of Swargarohini then from Satopanth to Somkund, Somkund to Surya tal and you are at the base of the peak. Sorry I have been till Satopanth, guides to the other place would be difficult to get.
It takes one day to reach Badrinath from Haridwar/Rishikesh and similarlly one day to come down to Rishikesh/Hardwar. Two days gone.
Kedar Tal is on the Gangotri side. I would not advice it on the same tour with juct 10 days. It will take you more than a day to travel from Gangotri to Badrinath. There are no direct buses.
The route of Kedar tal is
Day 1 Gangotri to Bhuj Kharag
Day 2 Bhuj Kharag to Kedar Kharag
Day 3 Kedar Kharag to Kedar Tal
At the time you are going you are bound to face snow fall I did and it was begining October. The snow does not stay.
In both the trek specilly the Satopanth trek its better to take a preoper guide (not Nepalis). In Gangotri you will find plenty of Guides and porters and Guide cum porters.
I would recomend Jaising on the Kedar Tal trek.
Swargarohini near Har-Ki-Doon on way to Ruinsara Tal is a group of peaks but Swargarohini near Satopanth Tal is a huge icefall which is mythologically treated as the path to heaven for Udhisthir. Basically this icefall first used by Shipton & Tillman who entered in the Gondar (Madhya Maheswar) valley from Alakananda Valley using this icefall. I recently trekked to Satopanth Tal, but I don't know about any peak of that name there.

Both you guys are absolutely correct in your views.
The peak that one sees from Har ki dun is indeed Swargarohini. Also the one from Satopanth the path that took Udhirstir to heaven
Cheers to both you guys information and mythology both correct

Thanks to all guys for providing valuabe information
I think Satopanth lake is very much possible but for Swagarohini its better I should forget it.
Whats the distance of satopanth lake from Vasudhara ?
Please give contact info of any good guide you know for Satopanth lake so that I can fix the tour with him in advance.
Also, now I have one more option in my pocket but need info from u guys:
How about Sapthrishi Taal (Yamnotri trek)
- is it also snowbound for this period (oct 10 - 22)
- Guides required ?
- Itinerary ?
I always do biking tour and this time also will do the same, I welcome you all if anyone wants to join me.
Waiting for reply from u guys.....
bye n take care
Satopanth is 28km from Mana village and Vasudhara is 3km from Mana village. I did this trek in June 2008, I took Mannu Rawat as my guide, he is a good high altitude guide and have nice terrain detail idea of that route. His contact no is 09412966171, you can refer my name to him as "Roy Sahab" and he will help you that is sure.
Happy trekking.
Happy trekking.

Sapthrish Kund as is more polarly know is about 12-15 kilometers from Yanotri. Guide must. Most locals from Yanotri will be able to take you. Bur ask and question them before taking or better take from GMVN (Gharwal Mandal Vikash Nigam) at they may be a bit more rliable. The pujaris can help also. Its basically one day's trek, not everyone goes there.Regarding Satopanth, better to ask at Mana Village they all know the route. Remember you have to register at Mana ITBP before proceeding further.
Best of Luck

As far as I know no nothing not even a Dhaba or a chatti on the way,to have tea, but people go up and come down the same day if you can walk that much.

HA ha Dilliwale always find it difficult I can understand (after all I am also form delhi but not like ohter delhities).I think it is more than 5 kms from Mana but I am not sure. This time if I have spare time I will visit vasudhara again and confirm about the exact distance again.
I really felt tired
when I did Vasudhara last time but in May I went to Tungnath which is 4 kms trek but very steep I done it comfortably.
sorry guys for putting wrong info.
actually I've wrote it wrong, it is from Badrinath to Mana is 3km and from Mana to Vasudhara is 5km, it is also written on the green board near Mana.
