Alone in Ladhak
Hullo All !
Requesting information on treks in Ladhak. I intend to be in Ladhak in June-July 2008(alone,as of now but open to company).Have earlier done Gaumukh-Tapovan and Kedar Tal. Could those who have travelled in this region please suggest a good route...(was thinking on the lines of Markha,Indus)say 7-9 days. Also, is it possible to hire guide/porter/cook in Leh? If yes, what would the indicative range of cost/day be? Any other tips welcome. Greatly appreciate your response.....need to start planning asap. Thanks much, Shephherd. |

Hi,
Reach Leh by road and spend a few days there. Go around the town and you shall be able to joining some group planning the trek for 8-9 days. Like you mentioned Markha valley trek is the one you may aim for.

Re:Alone in Ladhak
Thanks VSK.
Thats a possibility. You'd agree that a small group wd be preferable.Just checking, from your experience, do you think its possible to scout for a horseman etc., for a single guy? Also, are there places along the way where you can shack up? or is it imperative to carry tent+stove+food? Am open to company..... S |
