Getting permits to go to Adikailash is diffficult for foreigners.
But for Darma valley, it's a not a problem.Anyway you can try in Dharchula/pithoragarh for permits.
mid October is the time when there could be snowfall.

Generally the villagers of Darma vallley descend to their winter homes in mid October. The route should be open at that time. But you can't predict the weather. Right now the weather and road conditions are worse due to incessent rains. And the route is blocked.

The Shin-La pass from Jollingkong to Darma Valley (or vice-versa) is normally snow-bound through out the year. I had done Adi Kailash trek in Aug'93 via Jipti-Budhi-Gunji-Jollingkong and had planned to do the return trek via Darama valley. At that time, we could not cross Shin-La pass due to fresh snow which was knee deep. We trekked back via the same route on which we had proceeded to Jollingkong.

Beautiful picture, sadanand.

regarding Adikailash trek, see this:

www.visionhimalay.com

The local people of these valleys are promoting eco trekking and they have set up the above agency with the intention that the locals will benefit from it rathar than the trek agencies in Delhi or elsewhere.

Once again beware of Local guide & porters & i think you dont need any guide their. If you want urgently then try guide of duktu they are little bit good but guide of Tawaghat,Dharchula,Shobla are chheter.
