4 days in Uttar Pradesh

I arrive in India on August 21st and would like to be in the mountains for about four or five days. What would be the best place to trek and see awesome sights? How should I get there and where should I stay? Thanks so much...

Hi,
Valley of Flowers will be great during this time. If you move into the mountains immediately. For this you take early morning train from New Delhi to Haridwar (Shatabdi Express) take bus from there to reach Sirinagar (Garhwal) and next day you will reach Govindghat from where the trek starts. Return journey is along same route.

For Good peaks and glacier region go to Gangotri. For this you do not have to move into the mountains immediately. Again come to Haridwar by train and reach Rishikesh by Bus. Take Auto to reach Natraj Hotel from where Shared Jeeps leave for Uttarkashi. Night halt at Uttarkashi. Next day take shared Jeep for Gangotri which is 100 kms and takes about 4 hrs. Spend the night there. Next day trek towards Tapovan. Need not carry any camping equipment.
Any way the list is endless depending upon taste.
Details you may have from himalayancamping.com

Hi,
Well it will take two day of travelling from Delhi.
Trek is for 3 days out of which one goes in VOF.
At Gangotri you reach by afternoon of second day and then another 04 days of trekiing takes you to Tapovan and back.
